What the 4MW-93/35 Is

4MW identifies a four-column MW-type reciprocating compressor frame — a heavier-duty platform than the ZW series, engineered for the sustained mechanical demands of large-scale continuous gas service. 93 is the rated flow in m³/min. 35 is the outlet pressure in bar (3.5 MPa).

The 3.5 MPa outlet pressure distinguishes this machine from the standard 3.0 MPa industrial oxygen pipeline specification. In air separation plant applications, this higher pressure is specified where the downstream distribution pipeline requires additional margin, or where process conditions demand more than 3.0 MPa.

The product image shown is an engineering 3D rendering accurately representing the machine's four-column layout, skid base, inter-stage cooling arrangement and instrument piping. A factory-assembled unit photograph is available on request.

About the 3.5 MPa Outlet Pressure

The standard industrial oxygen pipeline pressure is 3.0 MPa (30 bar). The 4MW-93/35 operates at 3.5 MPa (35 bar) — applicable where the ASU process design or downstream pipeline conditions require the higher level. Confirm your required outlet pressure from the ASU process data sheet before specifying this model.

The MW-Type Frame

The MW platform is a distinct reciprocating compressor design from the ZW series, developed for higher capacity and the mechanical demands of large-scale continuous industrial gas service.

Four-Column Opposed Layout

Piston forces on opposing columns act in opposite directions, partially cancelling each other. This reduces the net unbalanced force transmitted to the foundation compared to a two-column machine of equivalent capacity.

Designed for Continuous Duty

Crankshaft, bearings, crossheads and connecting rods are specified for long-interval overhaul schedules consistent with ASU plant maintenance cycles.

API 618 Design

Designed to API 618 (Reciprocating Compressors for Petroleum, Chemical and Gas Industry Services) — the international standard required by EPC contractors for major industrial gas projects.

EPC Documentation Package

We supply a complete documentation package: general arrangement drawing, foundation loading diagram, P&ID, IOM manual, factory performance test certificate and material certificates. Witnessed FAT and SIL documentation available on request.

Common Questions

What does the model designation 4MW-93/35 mean?+
"4MW" identifies a four-column MW-type reciprocating compressor frame — a heavier-duty platform than the ZW series. "93" is the rated flow in m³/min. "35" is the outlet pressure in bar (3.5 MPa). The machine is specified for both oxygen and nitrogen service (O₂/N₂).
Why does this machine operate at 3.5 MPa instead of the standard 3.0 MPa?+
The 3.5 MPa outlet pressure is specified where the ASU process design requires it — for example, where distribution pipelines are long and need additional pressure margin, or where downstream processes demand more than 3.0 MPa. If your process requires 3.0 MPa, the 4ZW-84/30 is the other confirmed model in this family at that pressure. Always confirm your required outlet pressure from your process data sheet.
What is the MW-type frame and how does it differ from the ZW frame?+
The MW frame is a separate reciprocating compressor crankshaft and cylinder block platform from the ZW series, designed for higher capacity and sustained continuous industrial gas service. The two platforms are not interchangeable — frame selection is determined by the process data sheet.
What documentation is available for EPC procurement?+
We supply a complete documentation package: general arrangement drawing, foundation loading diagram (piston forces, unbalanced moments, anchor bolt layout), P&ID, IOM manual, factory performance test certificate and material certificates. Witnessed FAT and SIL documentation available on request.
What is the typical delivery lead time?+
Typically 20 to 32 weeks from order confirmation, depending on motor power class, special material requirements and certification scope. Advise us of your target delivery date at the enquiry stage so we can assess manufacturing capacity and confirm feasibility.
