Installation

The Simplest Install in Our Compressor Range

The medium-pressure oxygen booster range was designed for installation by plant engineers who are not compressed gas specialists. All models run on standard 380V — the same supply as the laser cutting machines or glass furnace controls already on site. No transformer procurement, no high-voltage cable runs, no specialist HV switchgear commissioning.

Three models — ZW-3/15 (2.0 t), ZW-4.5/15 (2.0 t) and LW-6/15 (1.8 t) — are light enough to be positioned with a 3-tonne counterbalance forklift. No crane hire, no structural assessment of the building slab, no specialist rigging. The machine goes where you need it.

Standard 380V electrical connection
Connect directly to your existing 380V DB. No HV transformer, no specialist electrical contractor. Standard 3-phase cable to the motor terminal box.
Anti-vibration mounts — no special foundation
Four anti-vibration mounts sit on standard concrete slab. Expansion anchors only. No reinforced dedicated foundation block.
PSA direct connect — buffer vessel + pipe flanges
PSA output connects to the compressor inlet via a buffer vessel (size for 5 min of inlet flow). Standard flanged connections. No specialist gas system commissioning required.

Applications

Where 10–16 bar Oxygen Is Used

Four distinct application areas — each with its own pressure requirement and flow characteristic.

Fibre Laser Cutting — Oxygen Assist

Oxygen assist gas in fibre laser cutting of carbon steel triggers an exothermic oxidation reaction, increasing cut speed and enabling thick-plate capability. Required pressure is typically 0.6–1.2 MPa at the machine head. A single ZW-3/15 serves 1–2 machines; LW-10/15 handles a cutting centre with 5–8 heads simultaneously. 15 bar is the standard specification for most fibre laser applications.

ZW-3/15 to LW-10/15  ·  3–10 m³/min  ·  1.5 MPa
Glass Furnace Oxy-Fuel Combustion

Replacing air with near-pure oxygen in glass furnace burners raises flame temperature, reduces fuel consumption 20–30% and cuts NOx emissions by over 80%. Oxygen demand for a typical glass tank runs 5–20 m³/min at 1.0–1.5 MPa at the burner manifold. LW-6/15 through ZW-14/15 covers small to mid-size installations. Large multi-furnace production lines use LW-24/16 or parallel units.

3ZW-5/12 to LW-24/16  ·  5–24 m³/min  ·  1.2–1.6 MPa
Wastewater Treatment — Oxygen Injection

Pure oxygen aeration can replace air blowers in high-BOD industrial effluent treatment, reducing basin volume requirements by 3–5x and improving treatment efficiency in facilities where space is constrained. Delivery pressure to submerged diffusers requires 1.0–1.5 MPa. ZW-20/10 and LW-10/15 are standard choices for municipal and industrial wastewater plants.

LW-6/15 to ZW-20/10  ·  6–20 m³/min  ·  1.0–1.5 MPa
PSA Medium-Pressure Distribution

Where a PSA generator feeds multiple end users across a large facility, boosting the distribution header to 10–16 bar allows smaller-diameter piping over long runs and maintains terminal pressure at distant draw-off points. ZW-20/10 (20 m³/min, 10 bar) is the standard choice for a pressurised oxygen distribution ring main serving multiple workstations or tanks.

ZW-20/10 or LW-24/16  ·  20–24 m³/min  ·  1.0–1.6 MPa
FAQ

Common Questions

Which model is right for my laser cutting system?+

Confirm the recommended oxygen pressure from your machine manufacturer. Add up total simultaneous demand across all heads and add 20% headroom. ZW-4.5/15 (4.5 m³/min) covers 2–3 medium-power machines; LW-6/15 (6 m³/min) covers 3–5; LW-10/15 (10 m³/min) handles 5–8 machines simultaneously. For most fibre laser applications, 15 bar (1.5 MPa) is the correct specification.

The LW-6/15 is 1.8 tonnes — can I really install it with a forklift?+

Yes. At 1.8 t and 950 mm wide, a standard 3–4 tonne counterbalance forklift can position it. The machine sits on four anti-vibration mounts fastened to the floor with expansion anchors — no crane, no rigging, no structural assessment. This is the most common reason customers choose it over the wider ZW models for retrofit installations.

All models 380V — is that accurate even for LW-24/16 at 250 kW?+

Yes. 380V is the standard supply throughout this range, including the LW-24/16 at 250 kW. The LW-24/16 also offers a 6kV/10kV option for sites that already have high-voltage power available, but the default is 380V. No other this medium-pressure range model requires anything other than standard three-phase 380V supply.

Do I need a dryer upstream of the compressor?+

For laser cutting and glass furnace applications: yes. An adsorption dryer on the PSA output line brings the dew point to below -40°C before the gas enters the compressor. Moisture in oxygen assist gas causes spatter on laser cuts and affects flame stability on glass furnaces. For wastewater oxygenation, drying is generally not required. We can advise on dryer sizing if you provide your PSA output conditions.

What if I need a pressure between 16 bar and 30 bar?+

This range reaches 16 bar (1.6 MPa). The high-pressure 30 bar oxygen boosters start at 30 bar (3.0 MPa). If your process requires 17–29 bar, contact us — most standard industrial applications cluster around either 15 bar or 30 bar, but we can discuss a custom configuration for intermediate pressures. Providing your process data sheet when enquiring will help us advise accurately.
